Adult Student Personnel Association

Records include conference proceedings and programs, correspondence, directories, lists, newsletters, and other publications. Records from both the Adult Student Personnel Association and the Evening Student Personnel Association are included as well as material from organizations with whom ASPA had close ties, such as the Coalition of Adult Education Organizations and the United States Association of Evening Students. Correspondents whose letters are of greatest depth and duration include Robert A. Allen and Edward Phoenix.

González, Bethaida.

Bethaida "Bea" González was a school board member, Common Council president, and candidate for mayor in Syracuse, New York. Campaign materials including correspondence, donor lists, notes, news clippings, and other materials; programs, correspondence, plaques, and certificates; family photographs, general news articles about González, programs from events where González spoke, and materials related to other candidates in local and national campaigns in 2001, 2004, 2005, and 2008.

Wight, Clifford.

Papers of the Mexican muralist. An epigrapher and sculptor, Wight acted as secretary, translator, and technical assistant to Diego Rivera during the latter's sojourn in the United States. Collection includes a variety of materials relating to Rivera's mural work in Detroit, San Francisco, and New York, including technical documents, correspondence, miscellaneous holograph and typescript manuscripts, photographs, and printed material.

Coalition of Adult Education Organizations

Verner, Coolie

American educator Coolie Verner received his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1952. He was professor of adult education at Florida State University (1953-1961) and the University of British Columbia (1961-) where he served as department chair. His awards include a Fulbright Fellowship (1952-1953), a Canada Council Fellowship (1968-1969) and an Imago Mundi Award (1959). Papers include agendas, correspondence, drafts, programs and reports. Papers include those generated while professor at Florida State University and the University of British Columbia. There are also papers from his activities in the Canadian Association for Adult Education, the International Congress of University Adult Education, from Washington State University, and those which resulted from his writings. A significant portion of the correspondence is that of Thurman J. White.
